MEETING WIT PTA EXECUTIVE, SMC, HEADS AND HEALTH TEACHERS OF GARIZEGU ROMAN CATHOLIC PRIMARY AND JUNIOUR HIGH SCHOOL

Introduction

A stakeholder meeting was organized in the Garizegu Roman Catholic primary school on Monday, 22nd July, 2013 of which the PTA executive were present and also inclusive were the two head teachers in addition to the health teachers of the two schools.

Purpose

The purpose of the meeting was to seek for the full support and contribution of the PTA as well as SMCs and other stakeholders in making this programme a success.

Updates and Discussions

The headteacher of the primary school in the person of madam Mercy Nabia welcomed as to the meeting with a short introduction. She called on me to brief the house on the purpose of the meeting which I did.

During the discussion, I briefed the house on the overview of the project and the activities to be carried out, I also urged them to give us the full support that we need to be able to carry out the task successfully.

An executive member of the PTA needed a clarification as to the kind of help we needed from them. I explained to him the kind of support we needed including the sitting of the facility as well as the management of the facility to keep it in a good shape and also for it to serve the purpose of which it was being given.

Meeting in progress with madam Mercy Nabia given a comment

Madam Mercy again urged the PTA members that they should support as by making available a site for the two facilities especially with the water facility and latrine.

One member suggested that the latrine should be constructed a little far from the school and gave a specific place near to the forest. Another person however disputed that fact with the reason being that the forest is a bosom of reptiles and sitting the facility around there could rather cause more harm than good and hence, the purpose would not have been met.

The whole house then agreed to locate the site before the close of the meeting to facilitate the speed of the project commencement. However, it was realised that there was no technical person available to approve the sitting and any decision taken might not be appropriate.

We therefore agreed that another meeting should be scheduled involving the technical people. It was however emphasized that this should be done as early as possible before crops grow as this may cause inconvenience to others when their crops grow up because some of the crops may have to be cut down in order to aid the construction of the facility.

Conclusion

The meeting was successful due to the effective contribution of participants.

Attached is the list of participants that were present at the meeting.
